About Us

Child Nepal (CN) is a non-political, non-religious, non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to the advancement and protection of child rights, as well as the holistic development of children in Nepal. Established in 2003 by a collective of social activists, the organization is driven by the aspiration to foster a child-friendly culture across the nation. Grounded in the principles and provisions enshrined within the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) 1989, and aligned with the Universal Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – 2030, Child Nepal’s mission and operations are firmly rooted in upholding the fundamental rights and well-being of children. Registered under the Government of Nepal/District Administration Office/Kathmandu (Regd. No. 460/059/060), and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council (SWC No. 14246), Kathmandu. Through its integrated interventions and initiatives, Child Nepal strives to be a steadfast champion of children’s rights, empowering and safeguarding the most vulnerable segments of the population, and catalyzing holistic, sustainable development for the betterment of Nepal’s future generations.

It has been launching innovative and inspiring programs with meaningful child participation, protection, promotion and overall development of a child. CN advocates for equal access and enjoyment of child rights in national level and carries out development programs in community level that brings a comprehensive impact in the lives of children and their families. In the changed political context, CN is conducting advocacy programs in central and provincial government while conducting development projects in coordination with local government.

  • Strengthen civil society monitoring and constructive engagement to fulfill state accountability on rights of the child.
  • Demonstrate effective mechanism to realize rights of the child on protection, development and participation.
  • Open successful dialogue in mainstreaming effective strategy demonstrated by Child Nepal.
